Support Our Assistance Program for AIDS/HIV Victim

"We are the world," was the appropriate  theme of a benefit song by the United States Artists some time ago. That sentiment echoed again with the events of September 11, 2001 (9/11), in the United States of America, during which time about 3000 people lost their lives on the attack of the World Trade Center in New York. We are no longer insulated from the happenings around us no matter where we are or what our situations in life might be. As one puts it, the 9/11 event "made us stronger, kinder, more caring citizens of the world".

Today, AIDS ravages Africa. More than 3 million people die annually of the scourge, while more than 16 million children are orphaned, afflicted with AIDS/HIV, homeless and hungry. This is a moral equivalence of war!

"We must define AIDS as our problem (global problem); as a threat to our common future; and as a test of common humanity. Because…there is no them: only us".

Secretary-General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan
